Advantages: Blending Formula, easy and fast working hair colouring system
Disadvantages: Strong chemical smell when activated
I'm at the stage of life when the grey hair starts to show and am not even sure what my own hair colour looks like now... Probably mousy-brownish... The last permanent colour I used was mahogany casting by L'oreal. It was nice but when roots started to show, the difference was harsher than anticipated. Seemed too reddish to blend naturally. I'm not afraid of experimenting with colour, only sometimes I'm too tired of doing up roots, as soon as they appear when the element of blending takes all new meaning.
Keeping that in mind I decided to go for something less exciting and more into blending direction. As usually, I came upon most suitable solution on Amazon.co.uk (free P&P):
Clairol Nice'n Easy Colour Blend Technology in Natural Light Ash Brown 114.
The box contains:
- Colour Formula
- Colour Activating Creme with Applicator
- Colour Seal Gloss Conditioner for Beautiful Brunettes (6 applications!)
- Professional Disposable Gloves
- Instruction Sheet.

The gloves were nice comfortable size without excess (didn't keep falling off).
After mixing ingredients, I thought the result was a bit too runny but it stack quite well to hair without any dripping. 25 mins was quite enough to complete the process and rinsing didn't take "forever" till the water run clear. Conditioner was nice and gave soft and silky-shiny effect to coloured hair. It was more manageable that before and after drying my hair while tossing them about in upside-down head position (my usual procedure) it came up beautifully smooth and shiny. That strange drying routine is perfect for fine, flyaway sort of hair that gets static quite easily. Just comb them well and give them inward or outward shape prior to drying. Then give it a go... My hair gets always pleasing results from it.
The colorant supposed to give my hair a cool final effect but thanks to previous mahogany colouring, my hair retained the warm hue that's not so harsh any more and that I think is working of the new Colour Blend Technology.
Summary: Permanent hair colourant, that blends with your existing colour and gives you that unique effect.
