This is a fool-proof recipe for a delicious Orange Chicken, that even my 8-month cat would snatch.
Ingredients
2
skinless boneless chicken breast halves
1
tsp
orange zest
1⁄2
c
orange juice
1
tbsp
white wine
1
tbsp
brown sugar
1⁄2
tsp
mustard
1
dash ground ginger
1
tbsp
cornstarch
1⁄4
c
water
Instructions
Methode:
Heat oven to 180 C. Place chicken in small shallow baking dish.
In a small bowl, combine juice, zest, wine, brown sugar, mustard and ginger; pour over chicken. Bake, covered, for 30 minutes or until tender. Remove chicken to serving dish, keep warm.
Pour baking juices into a small saucepan. Combine cornstarch and water; add to the juices.
Cook over medium-low heat until it starts to thicken. Spoon sauce over chicken. Serve immediately.
Notes
Suggestion:
To make the sauce more interesting add a spoon of Orange Marmalade before cornstarch.
Serve with rice and pear, peach or mango pieces – after that you won’t need a sweet dessert, but wouldn’t hurt if you had of course… =D
